FileCap is switching from AWS to Scaleway's European cloud platform. Both the platform and customer data are hosted within Europe and are subject to European laws and regulations. With this choice, we are also bringing the protection of customer data under European frameworks.
Why this transition?
Our customers trust FileCap to securely send emails and large files. This requires a platform that complies with European legislation and expectations regarding data protection.
FileCap was already running in AWS data centers in Europe. At the same time, AWS is an American company that is subject to US legislation. In the current geopolitical climate, organizations are taking an increasingly critical look at where data is stored and the legal context in which a provider operates. With this step, we are opting for a European cloud infrastructure that operates within European data protection frameworks.
About Scaleway
Scaleway is a European cloud provider with data centers within the EU and focuses explicitly on data sovereignty. The platform is managed within Europe and is subject to European legislation. This choice means that:
- customer data is hosted within the European Union
- we maintain the same technical reliability and scalability
What does this mean for customers?
The functionality of FileCap remains unchanged.
- The functionality remains the same.
- Security standards remain the same
- Performance and availability remain guaranteed
Why this fits FileCap
As a European SaaS solution, we believe it is important that our solution matches what we deliver: secure email and file sharing, with data storage within Europe.
Choosing Scaleway makes our solution entirely European, in line with our services. This means that our technical choices also match what customers can expect from us.
